When I told one of my writing friends that I was doing a short story for a Christmas book, and that it was kind of like women’s fiction, only true, she laughed. Yep, this isn’t my normal genre. But that same friend really enjoyed the story when it was finished, and I hope you will too!
A Perfect Gift includes twelve true short stories about Christmas. Here’s the official blurb:
Celebrate the twelve days of Christmas with a collection of twelve stories from some of your favorite authors, including Anita Stansfield, Melanie Jacobson, Ganel-Lyn Condie, and more! Filled with a dozen heartwarming true stories of faith, family, and the joys of giving, this book really is the perfect gift for anyone hoping to feel the magic and delight of Christmas. Come rejoice in the season as each family struggles to remember the true meaning of Christmas—will they be swept up in the holiday rush, or will they find comfort in Christ and learn to put others’ needs above their own?
My contribution is called “A Christmas Reroute.” It’s about a newly-divorced mother trying to find strength to deal with her challenges–the ones at home and in a busy airport when her flights are changed and her parents can’t find her.
The book includes stories from me, Anita Stansfield, Breanna Olaveson, Ellen Fay Belnap, Ganel-Lyn Condie, Jennifer Moore, Krista Lynne Jensen, Meg Johnson, Melanie Jacobson, Pamela Carrington Reid, Sandra Grey, and Sian Ann Bessey.
This Christmas compilation is now available in most LDS bookstores and online at Amazon, Deseret Book, and Seagull Book.
I’m going to order this right now! Can’t wait to read it!
